EMV 3DS Authentication Essentials
EMV 3DS Authentication Essentials course is designed to provide a thorough understanding of authentication practices, and specifically, how EMV 3-D Secure can help merchants and issuers maintain secure online transactions. Course participants will learn every step of the authentication process, including what stakeholders and technologies are involved and why authentication is a critical element in modern digital commerce.
This program will also provide a comprehensive examination of the EMV 3-D Secure (EMV 3DS) messaging protocol, including why it was created, how it works, and the ways it leverages region-specific authentication requirements and device-dependent identification technologies to facilitate secure transactions.
EMV 3DS Authentication Essentials course will addresses the following objectives:
- Recognize why authentication matters
- Identify the benefits and best practices of 3DS
- Outline the 3DS ecosystem (how 3DS works, stakeholders, relevant technologies, etc.)
- Recognize and understand global mandates and regulatory standards
This course, which is available for CPE credits (1), was co-developed by the MRC and CardinalCommerce and was peer-reviewed by the MRC Education Committee.
EMV 3DS Authentication Essentials course is priced at $75 for MRC members (plus applicable taxes). Non-members may take the course at the non-member price of $150 (plus applicable taxes). Introductory pricing will only be available for a limited time.
RAPID Edu Accreditation
The Merchant Risk Council is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: nasbaregistry.org
RAPID Edu Refund Policy
For the Rapid EDU Program (self-study), refunds and cancellations are determined on a case-by-case basis. Cancellations and requests for refunds must be communicated in writing to programs@merchantriskcouncil.org. Refunds will not be issued once a course has been started. Additionally, courses must be completed within one year of purchase.
