With bitcoin, the consumer controls the amount of funds to push to the merchant, so customers may underpay or overpay. Merchants must also have processes in place to refund customers, as a merchant using a payment processor will not see the consumer's wallet address and must ask the consumer for their wallet address before providing it to the processor to action a refund. A case study discussing Rakuten's recent experience launching bitcoin as a payment method is included.
