As we prepare to ring in 2017, it is a good time to take stock of the past calendar year. In 2016 the MRC made a number of enhancements and changes to the MRC website, so we wanted to share a few highlights:

Navigation menu improvements -- Pointers have been added as visual indicators that an item may be expanded to reveal one or more sub-items. The navigation tree automatically opens whenever an item or sub-item is selected, and will automatically close when a different item or sub-item is selected. The navigation menu is automatically collapsed on phones and tablets; simply tap the "hamburger" (three bars) in the upper left to reinstate it.

New Events page -- We redesigned the Events page to make it easier to see networking events, conferences, and other types of MRC events at a glance. While a list view called "Agenda" is the default display, a calendar view is accessible by clicking "Monthly." Note that a search feature is also available.

Industry News section on MRC home page -- The MRC home page now includes an Industry News section just below the four featured content items. The top five stories from Finextra Research News, Krebs on Security, and The Paypers are featured, and content is automatically updated as new stories are posted. Simply click a headline to view the full story.

Note that we also have an Industry Updates page under the News & Press section which includes the latest stories from the MRC SmartBrief and headlines from two of our media partners, Internet Retailer and PaymentsJournal. We also feature select industry headlines on our Fraud & Risk and Payments landing pages.

Thumbnails added to search and browse pages -- When viewing a browse page, such as 2016 Presentations, or a search results page, like machine learning, thumbnail images are included to help differentiate each content item. The thumbnails are cover images for most Resource Center items (presentations, webinars, whitepapers, etc.); for other content, such as News & Press articles, a logo or other small image is displayed.

The Industry Job Postings page now displays the logo of the company associated with each job post.

New MRC blog -- This fall the MRC rolled out the MRC Blog, which features content from MRC staff members as well as partner organizations such as Payments & Cards Network, Fintech Weekly, and The Paypers. To submit an article for the MRC Blog, please complete the form posted here.

In addition to the enhancements and features noted above, during 2016 the MRC added over 110 new Resource Center content items (presentations, webinars, whitepapers, etc.) covering a diverse range of topics important to fraud and payments professionals. We also posted four dozen jobs on our Industry Job Postings page in 2016, helping members recruit top talent to fill critical roles.
